Bora Yoon
Composer, vocalist and sound artist. Her Sunken Cathedral was one of the first five gralbums, and she played the launch with me.
Bora Yoon (born 1980, Chicago) is a Korean-American composer, vocalist and sound artist, a TED2014 Fellow, who builds immersive soundscapes from voice, electronics, and found objects and instruments from many cultures and centuries. Her multimedia album Sunken Cathedral came out on Innova in 2014, with a release performance at Asia Society, New York, on April 23, 2014, featuring the kinetic sculptures of U-Ram Choe. She holds a PhD in composition from Princeton and teaches at Reed College.

The Gralbum Collective
Sunken Cathedral was one of the five titles in the store when The Gralbum Collective launched on April 9, 2014: her “O Pastor Animarum,” with a mechanical sculpture by U-Ram Choe and video by Jacob McCoy and Adam Larsen. She and Adam Matta played the downstairs stage at the launch with me. Two weeks later my bio was in the program for her Sunken Cathedral performance at Asia Society, whose projection design was by Adam Larsen and Jacob McCoy of the collective.
