Adam Matta is a human beatboxer and vocal performance artist from New York who has performed with Bobby McFerrin at Carnegie Hall and headlined the 2009 UK Human Beatbox Convention. He joined the Carolina Chocolate Drops in 2011 and plays beatbox and tambourine on their Grammy-nominated Leaving Eden (2012). His work has been featured on NPR and in the documentary Planet B-Boy; he also paints and makes stop-motion animation.
Sketches
Sketches was one of the five titles at the launch of The Gralbum Collective on April 9, 2014: one song, “Cellophane,” in which every sound is his unaltered voice, with 25 of his paintings and two stop-motion animations. He and Bora Yoon played the downstairs stage at the launch with me.
