Elementary Audio, Day 1

Day 1 with Elementary Audio JS Library.

I set out to get something cool happening in an hour or two. ended up burning the better part of the day. I started with an empty SvelteKit project because that’s what I had been using, and then messed around for a little while … aI mean several hours, troubleshooting why I had no sound.

Although the tutorials and examples could be more fully featured, the real TL;DR is:

Right. Most browser won’t allow sound to start automatically without user interaction.

OK!

Will try again later this week.

Reflections, Vol. 1

Reflections, Vol1 (A Noise Akin to a Flight of Deranged Swallows in Combat) is my first release of improvised duets (and the 4th piece is a trio, which breaks the rule).

The name came from my friend Scott Hamptopn (a.ka. Exaltron) who took it from a review of one of my Metal Machine Trio performances. I love it, and I loved the idea of having a band with an absurdly long name.

Exaltron is featured on the last track, playing trumper, guitar, guitar-bass, and live looping madness.

The third track, Softly Questioning, because the main melody used in the film ‘Poughkeepsie’ written and directed by Joe Kelly.

The Book of Sarth Review on The Verge

“The art is beautiful unto itself, each page filled with inset images that shift, fade, or change. Things really come alive in what’s called the “director’s view”: tap an image and the artwork fills the screen, putting the reader in the same place as the characters, witnessing the effects of the sonic artifact firsthand.”
