Dominic Bouffard
Guitarist and composer, a Robert Wilson regular. He played in the Lulu band in Berlin, on my Christmas song, and co-hosted Beautiful Tornado with me.
This past August we all went in to the studio, along with a motley assortment of NYC instrumentalists ... plus my good friend Dominic Bouffard who was visiting from London .. and this was the result.

Dom Bouffard is a London-born, Anglo-French guitarist, composer and multidisciplinary artist. He founded the rock band Sona Fariq in the early 2000s and now performs in the duo Emperors of Rome. With Robert Wilson, who called him one of the most interesting musical talents we have today
, he played guitar in Lulu (Berliner Ensemble, 2011) and Shakespeare’s Sonnets (2009), made the radio works Monsters of Grace II (2013) and Tower of Babel (2017, with Hal Willner), which won the Deutscher Hörspielpreis der ARD, and was composer, arranger and musical director for Wilson’s Moby Dick (Düsseldorf, 2024). He has worked with Lou Reed, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Daniel Hope, Lady Gaga and CocoRosie.
Berlin, Brooklyn, and a podcast
He played electric guitar in the Berliner Ensemble band for Lulu, the production whose score Lou Reed and I wrote and whose music rehearsals I directed in Berlin in 2011. In August 2015 he was visiting from London and played guitars on “I Just Believe in Christmas.” From March 2020 to February 2021 we made Beautiful Tornado, six episodes of a podcast with guests including Doron Lev, Glen Brady, Richard Naviasky, Bryan Senti and Michael Patrick F. Smith.
