*The Family Album* is the only full-length by [Lucibel Crater](/conspiracies/lucibel-crater/), the Brooklyn trio of [Leah Coloff](/conspirators/leah-coloff/), [Paul Chuffo](/conspirators/paul-chuffo/) and me. Ten songs, released February 12, 2008 on Searching Eye Records and mixed by [Bryce Goggin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryce_Goggin).

[Lou Reed](/conspirators/lou-reed/) plays guitar on “Threadbare Funeral.” It is the only guitar on the record.

Ross Christopher at awaken music picked out “Where You Are,” “There was a Time” and “Threadbare Funeral.” MP3 Troll noted the Lou Reed guitar in May 2008, before the reviews. Coloff sings and plays cello; Chuffo plays drums; I play keys, bass, loops, [Kyma and the Continuum](/devices/).

## What was written about it

[Buzzbin Magazine](https://web.archive.org/web/20110621012417/http://www.buzzbinmagazine.com/home/2008/07/02/lucibel-crater-the-family-album/) reviewed it in July 2008: this is totally music to get high to. Simone Tempia wrote it up twice in Italy, in *Urban* in February 2009, where the Björk and White Stripes comparison comes from (Ci si può sentire qualcosa di Björk e magari dei White Stripes. Ma la verità è che il loro sound è unico e difficilmente incasellabile.), and in *Vogue Italia* that January.
