# *Suspension*

*Suspension* is the only album by [Number19](/conspiracies/number19/), the Brooklyn band of [Tony Diodore](/conspirators/tony-diodore/), [Leah Coloff](/conspirators/leah-coloff/), Mark Righter and me. Nine songs, released in 2001 on Searching Eye Records and credited to Number 19. Diodore on guitar and violin, me on bass and a Yamaha EX5, Coloff on cello and voice, Righter on drums.

## Paid for by downloads

The record was paid for out of [mp3.com](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mp3.com) downloads, and the single that led them was “Water,” track three. Number19 reached number eighteen overall on that site and took more than ninety thousand downloads in six months. From the biography on my old site: The band they established, Number19, funded its first record with downloads from mp3.com in 2001.

Nine songs, recorded with Diodore on guitar and violin, me on bass and a Yamaha EX5, Coloff on cello and voice, Righter on drums. The band’s site called the music Rhythm & Strings. Spotify dates the album 2007, the year it went up there; it came out in 2001. The sixth track, [“I Before E,”](/transmissions/i-before-e/) has its own page with the note I wrote about it in 2022.
