Tom Hart is a New York artist who draws annotated portraits of subway riders during his commutes, by hand with fountain pen, brush and cut-paper collage, adding invented biographical text with “names changed to protect the peculiar.” Stereophile, at the Gralbum launch, saw NYC bums, metal-heads, and hipsters on the subway with gruff but comical drawings and incisive poetry.

## Two gralbums

[The Gralbum Collective](/conspiracies/gralbum-collective/) published *Train O’ Thots* in April 2014, his drawings and words with music by Moon Hooch, and *Train O’ Thoughts* in April 2015, with music by Exaltron ([Scott Hampton](/conspirators/scott-hampton/)) and me: “Hope is a state of Mind” is mine. The second launched with a showing at the New York Transit Museum on April 1, 2015. Video and animation on both were by [Jacob McCoy](/conspirators/jacob-mccoy/) and [Leah Coloff](/conspirators/leah-coloff/).
