# Paul Chuffo

Paul Chuffo is a drummer in New York. He was the original drummer for [Gutbucket](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutbucket_(band)), the punk and jazz band, and since 2005 he has played drums, thumb piano and sound in [Lucibel Crater](/conspiracies/lucibel-crater/) with [Leah Coloff](/conspirators/leah-coloff/) and me.

## Lucibel Crater

Lucibel Crater has been a trio since I started it in 2005. A typical set begins with Chuffo’s syncopated drum parts being looped live, piece by piece, before the rest of the band builds on top of them. The trio released the EP *Miracles* in 2007 and the full-length *The Family Album* in 2008, with [Lou Reed](/conspirators/lou-reed/) playing guitar on “Threadbare Funeral.”

The dates that survive in the record run from the Knitting Factory in February 2007 through FatBaby, the Delancey and a Berlin night at RAW-Tempel in November 2008. They are listed on [Sightings](/sightings/).
